IRAP Assessors Canberra

CCircle provides IRAP assessment services to Australian Government agencies, Defence organisations, government suppliers and businesses across Canberra and the ACT.

Our ASD-endorsed IRAP Assessors understand the assurance, evidence and security requirements associated with Australian Government environments. We provide independent assessment and clear findings without presenting IRAP as certification or an automatic authorisation outcome.

01

IRAP Assessment Services in Canberra

Canberra projects operate close to Commonwealth policy, national security functions and Defence capability. Assessments must be technically sound while accounting for government information handling, security documentation, facilities, personnel, evidence protection and authorisation processes.

CCircle supports Canberra-based project delivery for agencies and suppliers preparing ICT systems, cloud services and supporting infrastructure for government use. We do not disclose confidential clients or sensitive engagement details.

02

Supporting Government and Defence Environments

Our work considers the ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight, system security documentation, security control evidence and residual risk. We understand that an assessor's report contributes to a broader risk and authorisation process; it does not replace the accountable decision-maker.

This government-aware approach helps stakeholders plan access, gather defensible evidence and resolve ambiguity before it disrupts the assessment.

03

IRAP Readiness and Gap Assessments

Control gaps

Review likely applicable ISM controls and identify weaknesses before formal testing.

Documentation

Review SSPs, policies, plans, architecture and supporting records for completeness and consistency.

Evidence readiness

Confirm that implementation claims can be demonstrated with current, credible evidence.

Remediation planning

Sequence practical changes across governance, infrastructure, identity, endpoints and cloud services.

04

Independent Assessment

An IRAP assessment must be objective and evidence-based. Scope, applicable controls, conflicts of interest and handling arrangements are agreed before assessment activity begins. Findings reflect what the evidence demonstrates, including where a control is only partially effective.

If CCircle has provided readiness advice, independence requirements are considered explicitly and delivery responsibilities are separated where needed.

05

What to Expect From an IRAP Engagement

  1. Confirm the Canberra delivery model, system boundary and stakeholders.
  2. Agree evidence access, protection and consultation arrangements.
  3. Review documentation and conduct interviews with system and control owners.
  4. Perform technical validation and assess applicable controls.
  5. Discuss factual accuracy while retaining independent judgement.
  6. Issue the Security Assessment Report and explain material findings.
  7. Validate remediation where reassessment is required.

IRAP Canberra FAQs

Can you conduct IRAP assessments onsite in Canberra?

Yes. Engagements can include onsite delivery in Canberra and the ACT where physical access, interviews, facilities or protected evidence make this appropriate, combined with secure remote activities where suitable.

Do you work with Commonwealth Government suppliers?

Yes. We support suppliers, cloud and technology providers and Defence industry participants that need to demonstrate security controls for systems handling or supporting government information.

Can CCircle assist before the formal IRAP assessment?

Yes. Readiness reviews can examine ISM gaps, documentation, architecture and evidence. Advisory work is clearly separated from independent assessment work where independence requirements apply.

Do you assess systems against the ISM?

Yes. The assessor identifies applicable ISM controls for the agreed system and scope, then assesses their implementation and effectiveness using credible evidence.

Can you assist with Essential Eight issues identified during readiness?

Yes. CCircle can assess and help remediate Essential Eight gaps across identity, endpoints, applications, patching, privileged access, MFA and backups.

Can you work with systems handling sensitive Government information?

Yes, subject to agreed handling arrangements, personnel suitability, classification, facilities and engagement scope. These requirements are confirmed before evidence is collected.
